This sentence sounds awkward to me

How does B's line sound to a native speaker?

A: This sandwich tastes kind of dry.
B: It tastes better if you put butter on the bread.

The following three versions sound more natural to me.

It will taste better if you put butter on the bread.
It would taste better if you put butter on the bread.
It tastes better when you put butter on the bread.
