This or that

What would one call a phrase that attempts to relate two unrelated things. For example, where someone is alleged to have said they were forced to get into a van or a trunk. It could be said that this does not make sense because a van is a type of vehicle and a trunk is one part of a particular type of vehicle. If one wanted to argue that it is unlikely that the person actually said this because the sentence does not make sense, is there a technical term one might use to refer to this type of phrase? Thank you for your attention. Melonball
