This must be why...

Is the sentence “This must be why she lost her temper.” correct (correct in a strict sense, not just “can do”)? The sentence is supposed to mean “This must be the reason why she lost her temper.”; can “the reason” be omitted in this case? Thank you!

It's much BETTER to use either "the reason" or "why" and NOT "the reason why."
