This Monday or next Monday?

Hi there,

I'd like to know what difference is between 'this Monday' and 'next Monday'?

Suppose today is Thursday of week(0). When I say 'this Monday', am I referring to the Monday of week(0) or the Monday of week(1)? When I say 'next Monday', am I referring to the Monday of week(1) or the Monday of week(2)?

In other words:

Does 'this Monday' mean 'this week's Monday' or 'the coming Monday'(either in this week or next week )?

Does 'next Monday' mean 'the Monday after coming Monday' (either in next week or the week after next week)?

relating question:

Does 'this week' mean 'the current week' or 'the coming week'? which day is the beginning of a week? Monday or Sunday?
