This kind of people doesn't/don't ?

Hello guys, i'd like to know if the following sentences take a singular or plural verbs after the noun "people".

These kinds of people don't know about anything about respect.

This kind of people doesn't know anything about respect.

Are both of the sentences above correct grammatically ?
I think the first sentence is correct though.
