This is the year that I was born/ born in.

1. This is the year that I was born.
2. The is the year that I was born in.

I wonder if the whether the both are grammatical or not.

Both are possible. The first one sounds better to me, but I think the most common way to say that is: This is the year I was born.

I'm not sure why the others said this is OK. It isn't.

The first word needs to be 'This'.
