This is taking too long.

Hi,

Is the verb "to take" like the verb "to feel"?

I can feel the breeze. I took the money. (normal transitive verb with object)

I feel funny. It takes a thief to catch a thief. / This is taking too long.

Is this parallel legitimate? Is there a name for it?

My bad.

I now realize that this relates to transitive/intransitive usage.
Some verbs when used intransitively almost seem like they have objects.
