"awkward" is putting it very mildly. It would sound so offensive in the ears of some few that you would find yourself knocked to the floor by a solid punch to your face. It depends a lot on who you're talking to and in what setting. You might just be escorted off the premises or might just suffer some disapproving looks. Others who hear this might just shrug and figure you're half insane.
