Many students choose to study at colleges and universities that are away from the places where they grew up. Do the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

Picking universities and colleges that are remote from where they were brought up is quite popular among students. Although this can help them avoid homesickness, I believe that there are more drawbacks because it will lead to dependent personality.

Financial problems are common among students who choose to enroll in a bachelor’s degree in a distant town, city. This occurs as a result of they are no longer depend on their parents, so all the tasks like household chores, money management are done by themself with just a finite amount of money and time. For example, Students who come from middle-class families say that they usually broke or overexpand 4 to 5 times when they are still freshmen. However, I believe that it is not a significant drawback.

The advantage is that learning far from home can help students hone their soft skills. This is because, when living alone with a lot of strangers, and can rely on no one; they have to learn how to deal with daily chores, works, problems by themself. For instance, many students who returned to their hometown after a few years of studying abroad usually display a great improvement in independent characteristics and self-discipline. I am of the opinion that learning in colleges and universities far from a person's hometown has a lot of benefits.

In conclusion, there are a lot of people choose to study far from their hometown, this means they will have a lot of opportunities to develop themself. Although studying in a place that they are birth can give them comfort, I believe that there are more drawbacks because it will make them more dependent upon other people.
