This is my writing task 2. I am so happy to see your feedback. thank you!

Topic: Some people think international car-free days are an effective way of reducing air pollution; however, others think there are other ways.

Discuss both views and give your opinion

My essay:

Some people consider world car-free days as a measure to deal with air pollution. Although this solution can be thought to effectively reduce levels of air pollution, I still believe the government could do much more to mitigate this issue.

It stands to reason for people who argues that international car-free days are a massive opportunity for minimizing air contamination. Firstly, vehicle emissions are one of the main sources of outdoor air pollution, particularly in cities. According to the research of WHO in 2006, 4.2 billion deaths in the whole world were caused by air pollution. Therefore the number of exhaust fumes can be fell if people are encouraged to get around without driving alone in cars and instead ride a bicycle or walk, which help people can reduce the risk of getting several serious diseases.

In spite of the positive aspects of car-free days is undoubted, many approaches that the government can use to tackle some problems of air pollution. First, they should invest in infrastructure for bicycles. Because the bicycle is a mean of transport which not only do not discharge gas emissions but it also helps people ward off some health problems, such as heart attack or obesity. The second solution would be to impose higher taxes on cars and petrol prices. Like we know, gas emissions are one of largest contributors to climate change, so the fewer people could afford a car, the less the amount of toxic fumes could be released into the atmosphere.

To sum up, from all existing information above while I recognize the benefits of world car-free days, I consider may other measures that the state could do to reduce air pollution.
