This is letter addressed to Canadian high commissioner for scholarship of MS in bioinformatics or any related biology field ,kindly check it out for errors or improvements

'I CAN I WILL'
The above words have always been a key point in my learning. It has helped me frame my targets and reach the goals of my career so far. I graduated in Bioinformatics in March 2009 from Comsats Institute Of Information Technology (CIIT), Faculty of Biosciences, with CGPA 0f 3.17 (79%), did my inetrmediate from Amina Degree College for Women with 72% score and my secondary school from Army Public School,Peshawar with 78% .The CIIT is now slated for up gradation as a university by the name of ‘COMSATS University’ through an Act of the Parliament and research produced at CIIT has been ranked at number two in Pakistan,as notified by HEC in 2008. My degree focuses on The ultimate goal to enable the discovery of new biological insights as well as to create a global perspective from which unifying principles in biology can be discerned. I have been exposed to many fields of study like biochemistry, cell biology, bioinformatics, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, genetic engineering, protein engineering, enzyme engineering, immunology, bioprocess engineering and animal biotechnology.

I have been blessed to have parents and teachers who instilled me with good values and principles. They have supported me in accomplishing the goals I have set forth. In school, I was taught to be inquisitive, and to probe beyond the obvious solutions, to gain a deeper understanding of concepts. Biology was my favorite subject as I was fortunate to have teachers who motivated me by drawing parallels between worlds of exciting discoveries and their applications to everyday life. I realized that a comprehensive understanding of science is possible only when scientific theories are supported by practical experiments. Since my school days I have
been interested in science,so I participated in various science exhibitions and competitions and was awarded various certificates.I feel that extra curricular activities are as important as studies in estimating a person's overall capacity. So I became a member of group of students who worked at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences(PIMS), for....of victims of 8 October 2005 earthquake.

While finding these proteins of in my project, I encountered with the tools of bioinformatics like.... and I feel that the wet lab analysis of the research can be made easier and faster by using the bioinformatics tools. I understand bioinformatics & computational biology well for the solution of scientific problems. This scientific quest in understanding the complexities and orders in the biological systems has made me opt for the bioinformatics & computational biology graduate programme. I WORKED WITH Habib Bukhari,PHD university of Glasgow, his major contributions and research publications are on Molecular characterization of mutations causing ß-thalassemia and work on pertactin autotransporter protein .

We were given a PBL project at university,I was the team leader of my group and did very well due to my inquisitive nature. We had a coures at university, 'Social, Ethical and Legal aspects of Biotechnology' where we had to debate about thge various ethical and social issues encountered as a reaction to scientific research. I was the most active participant as I am deeply concerned about the ethical aspects of scientific research,as not only it raises ethical questions among people but it can have long lasting genetic consequences on the human race.We were also taught essential techniques of microbilogy, immunology and molecuar biology in 'Essential techniques in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology like blood typing,DNA fingerprinting,SDS-page,cloning in bacteria and other essential techniques.

In my 7th semester, following extensive literature search I developed a website in Visual Basic that integrates and links vast pool of biological data related to “Mimivirus”, in a single website.During my project I spent a lot of time in reading journals like ‘Nature’, ‘Advanced Biotechnology’, ‘Phytochemistry’ and ‘Phyotomedicine’.My final semester project was about In Silico Identification of New Autotransporter Vaccine Candidates & Development Of Software Program - following literature search and extensive use of a variety of publicly available online bioinformatics tools and software, I identified novel in silico autotransporter potential vaccine candidates & developed a software program for prediction of these proteins.

The tarmac for attaining my target is well paved right from my schooling and so am I her,e desiring for a Masters program in the following universities (priority wise):
University of British Columbia
McGill university
University of Alberta
University of Toronto
Simon Fraser University
University of Waterloo
university of Saskatschewan
Carleton university
I am inspired by the vastness of research the professors in these universities.I feel that graduate study at any one of these Universities will be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major step towards achieving my objectives. I would be grateful to you if I am given the opportunity to pursue my graduate studies with financial assistance at any of these prestigious institutions and I am able to justify your faith in me. I look forward to satiate my evergreen forte and passions starting in a country where different perspectives are respected and learning together is encouraged.I believe that the knowledge I have gained is little and there is much more to learn and relearn. So with the knowledge I posses and desire to learn more, along with my leadership abilities, make graduate study a natural choice for me. I am sure that a graduate course in a well reputed university will definitely widen the horizons of my knowledge and help me attain a milestone in my career.I am a stern believer of attitude, quality, and hard work. I promise to attain meteoric heights and bring glory tothe institution,my family and your country, if I am given a chance.

I have a passion for scienctific research but unfortunately due to lack of opportunities for scientific research here in my country this passion of mine is not satiated yet.Growing militancy and extremism is increasing the sense of insecurity among the civilians of Pakistan, which has fuelled the need among civil society to speed up their efforts for promoting peace which cannot be done without educating our society. Half the population of Pakistan is under twenty years and 66% are less than thirty years. This lot of youth generates a hopes and aspirations in the minds especially for the infusing new vision and energies for stable, peaceful, just and self reliant Pakistani state and society. This is possible if they are provided spaces to be bolstered technically and conceptually so that to lead process of national development as practitioners, thinkers and leader. At present, the average young person in Pakistan, like me, is starved of education and livelihood opportunities. I strongly believe that if I could get better education and refine my research skills,I would like to put efforts for widening the scope of bioinformatics and scientific research in my country. Education and honest, devoted young people is what our country needs now not bomb shells and suicide bombers By compassion we make others' misery our own, and so, by relieving them, we relieve ourselves also,my passion is to make sure this society is educated in modern science.
