The maps illustrate the significant transformation of a village called Stockeford in over the period of 80 years.
Overall, it is clear that the number of houses increased dramaticlly, while the farmlands were disappeared completely. There have also been some changes of shops, primary school, large houses and gardens.
In 1930, there were a few houses in both sides of the main road, and two farmlands of Stokeford were located in the top and the bottom of village. But in 2010, shops and farmlands were replaced with many houses of residents and a road. Post office is the only one which is remained during the period.
In 2010, retirement home was added into Stokeford’s map where large houses was used to be. Primary school was expanded to 3 blocks instead of only one block in 1930. There were a rise of a number of roads which lead to retirement home or resident’s area.
