Is this description natural English? Any suggestions please?

The curve of the road right across from my flat was very dangerous, especially at nighttime. Seeing the road deserted, many people would drive recklessly fast and lose control at the curve. I myself witnessed any number of accidents in my three year-stay at Lampore.
