Grammar

"This" for past tense

I am reviewing a paper for an intern. Every Friday he writes a paper describing what he learned Monday through Friday. He is constantly using the term "this week". I think that it should be written in past tense "last week I ..." or "Over the week, I".

Before I correct him I want to make sure that this is the proper grammar. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi, 'This week' is fine. The week is not over yet, in the writer's mind. If on Friday 15th you say 'last week', it will sound like you mean the week that ended on Sunday 10th.
