This day/week/month/year

Howdy howdy!

I read in a grammer book that this can be used after periods of time related to the present.
The other day I came across this sentence:

I saw him this morning.

It is actually refering to a point of time in the past, not present.

The question that is troubling my mind is :

1. What forms of verbs can be used with the adverbs such as This
week/day/month/year?

2. Are the following sentences correct?

I'm going to go swimming this week/year.
I went to the hospital this week/year.
I go to the hospital this week/year.

Thanks very much indeed.
