I have a question about this usage.
"He will spend X years. Maybe more."
"We made 20 dollars. Maybe even more."
"I will finish my homework in 5 minutes. Maybe even less."
I was told the first clause states that it is definite, while the second is a possibility. However, I have trouble understanding this. This is because it does not make sense to say: "I will finish my homework in 5 minutes, with the possibility of being less." "We definitely made 20 dollars, with the possibility of making even more." "I can run a 5 mile in 1 hour, with the possibility of running it in a less time."
I have trouble understanding this You are being too literal, but if we let the mountain come to Mohammed, it does make literal sense. If we make twenty dollars, that is definite. If we add "maybe more", that does not change the fact that we made the twenty.

I can definitely run five miles in one hour. It's possible that I can run five miles in less than one hour.
