Third conditional

'if Team Y earned 10 million revenues in 1998 then Team Y's revenues could have increased 10% from 1997 to 1998'

I was wondering the word earned wouldn't be had earned?

Is it a  simple form of third conditional?

If so, it's If Team Y earned $10 million in revenue in 1998, then its revenue increased by 10% from 1997 to 1998. If, in contrast, you are imagining an increase in revenue which did not actually happen, it's If Team Y had earned $10 million in revenue in 1998, then its revenue would have increased by 10% from 1997 to 1998.
