Think to do sth.

Hello, I'm wondering is it correct to say 'think to do sth.' ? does it mean 'plan to do sth.', 'intend to do sth.' ? thanks.

You usually use it for a past event. It's not something you meant to do and forgot, it's something that simply didn't occur to you do do. When I went to take care of my friend's cats while she's away, I didn't think to water her plants too.

  • Why didn't you pick up the dry cleaning when you were right next door at the post office?
  • Ans: I should have but I just didn't think to do it.
