Think piece

Hi. This is my first thread in this forum.
A think piece is something like a paragraph written with the personal opinion of the writer?
And, what does it mean?: an investigative research.

  • I once worked with a writing teacher who had students write, rather than a "research paper", an "I-search paper" for which the student had to do one-on-one interviews with people who were familiar with the topic instead of relying on published materials.

I've never heard the term "think piece", but the way you describe it, it makes sense. My guess is that the instructor doesn't want a lot of research that you might quote on the topic....just your thoughts, although you may have to do a bit of research in order to form your op
