Think of it as one?

Hi. Please help me. How could we tell if each of the two words underlined, which also is connected with a hyphen, is denoting something that is to be thought of as one or whether one is detailing what kind the other is? Thank you in advance.

1. ... are play-actors.

2. ... is my burden-bearer.
