Think about/of and dream about/of ???

When do i use which one? What is the difference? Does both exist at all?

I dreamed "about" you <-> I dreamed "of" you
I thought "about" you <-> I thought "of" you

In these two pairs of expressions, there is hardly any difference. All four are possible and correct. "about" with "think" suggests a little more detail may be available concerning the thought -- that "you" featured more prominently and extensively in the thought (than if "of" had been used).
