I find them both awkward.
We don't usually use "people in general" in quite this way.

If you say, "This is what people generally do," we assume that you're speaking of people in general.

I think the focus of your examples belongs on what people generally think, not on what people in general think.

I would answer in the affirmative,

but "to think something is not good" and "to not think something is good"are not very elegant statements. They do not measure up to the language with which you begin your sentences.

This is not good.

That's no good.

I don't think this is good.

This is something most people don't like.

These are very casual statements often said offhand. (The last one is a little bit higher register.)

With your introductions, we expect to hear something more specific:

Anger is one of the emotions which generally turn people off.

We wonder if the "feeling" is being experienced by the people who don't like it, or by another person they have to deal with.
