Either way it's a strange grouping of words. I'm having trouble assigning a coherent meaning to them. How were you going to use them in a sentence?

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your reply.
There's something that I was supposed to know by know, but I don't. I possibly will by Friday.

Are you saying you will post further information on this thread Friday?

Hi Jim,
Not all. I'm just saying why I've asked, 'things stand by'.
Because I don't know the information yet I have to stand by till Friday to know that infomation.
Do I have to write 'stand by' or 'standby' to mean 'estoy en espera'?

Ah! The idiom is "on standby".

Things are on standby. (como estar en suspenso)

Also,

Things are on hold.
