Thigh-man

The other day a came across the word thigh-man in the movie "Dead Poets Society". Mr. Keating used to be a thigh-man when he was a student at Welton College.
I couldn't find the term anywhere so maybe one of you guys could enlighten me? Thanks heaps in advance!
