Thick VS Heavy

Hi,

I have a query about the use of 'think' and 'heavy'. Most of the time, these two words are interchangeble. How about these senetences?

1. In the midst of heavy fog....( is thick acceptable here?)

2. This coffee contain is rather thick.....( is heavy acceptable here?)

3. I knew where she from the moment she spoke. She had heavy aussie accent. (thick?)

4. The smell of citrus is too heavy. (how about thick?) .....'strong' might be a better adj here but is heavy or think acceptable or either one?

Thanks.
