thick jacket or heavy jacket

Hi,

What adjective do you use to describe a jacket that one normally wears in the winter?

1) heavy jacket

2) thick jacket

Any other adjectives to better describe the jacket one usually wears in such cold weather (as I try to set the stage under) would be thankfully received.

Top answer

They are both appropriate - although jacket refers to a short coat so perhaps coat sounds more suitable for cold weather! You could also use the adjective warm.
