Thank you AlpheccaStars.

How about this example.

Let's say a talented musical group make a comeback, so I want to say that they can still make beautiful songs.

Which one is correct?

They still has it.
They still have it.

They still have it.

The verb "have" is irregular, but follows the same pattern as regular verbs, such as "see":

I see.
You see
He, she it sees (regular third person singular -s ending)
We see
They see.

I have.
You have
He, she it has (irregular third person singular. It still gets an -s ending)
We have
They have.

I know about the rule for regular verbs, but the result of the google search makes me doubt myself.

At least 479 million people are not saying it correctly compared with only 3 million people who are saying it right. I was thinking of the probability that the presence of "still" might change the rule. So it has nothing to do with "still".

Thank you for the clarification.

Google is a terrible resource for correct usage. Instead, use the American or British Corpus. These come from more reputable sources - books, magazines, transcripts. It's not perfect, but at least it has been reviewed.

In the American Corpus, there are 857 instances of "they still have" and none for "they still has."

This is fascinating and amazing! You are right. The correct phrase is "they still have".

Apparently the intervening word "still" confuses people tremendous

CalifJimI have no idea why "still" should have such an effect on writers, but the presence of "still" makes no difference to the correctness of "they (still) have".__________
It's weird to me, too. Most were blogs; only a minority in the "they should have known better" category.
Perhaps it's a contagion in the blogosphere.

I did notice a few where 'they' substituted for 'there', which is a different problem — for example,

They still has not been an answer for There still has not been an answer.

That kind of typo did not seem to characterize the majority of cases, however.

This one has several corpora that can be queried from the same interface: American, British, Canadian, etc. The largest is GoogleBooks which I tried for the first time with the phrases "they still has" (0 hits) and "they still have" (thirty thousand hits or so).
It is tricky to use, bu
