Does "they fled England" mean "they escaped from England"?
Background info:
my ? was did the mayflower pilgrims kill natives. i dont think so. this being said it sickens me to see the 'hollywood' teaching of history. half the settlers died 1st winter. i some how think they had other priorities, like living to see another winter! then simply did not have the motive nor the resources to start and wage military movements to further escalate hostilities. the pilgrims were the purist of Christianity ie puritan. as to why they fled england. trying to mix the spanish conquest into the topic is completely irrelevant as not only were they divided by thousands of miles but hundreds of yrs.. only in hollywood zombieland does infection disease take effect instantly
Top answer
Not necessarily. It just means that they ran away from England. 'Escaped' would suggest that they were prisoners.
