Which is correct?

Thousand of people are safe from painful diseases.
Thousand of people are saved from painful diseases.

Any idea would be appreciated

Saved: they had the disease, and were cured. Or, they were kept from getting the diseases.

To be honest, neither one is exactly right, and neither is very idiomatic.
First, we say "thousands of", not "thousand of".
And then, the thought needs to be expanded a bit or placed in context. Without that, it's hard to see these as typical English sentences.

Because of recent advances in medicine, thousands of people are saved every day from painful diseases.
