Hi. Could you clarify whether is it correct to use expressions in the form "the + Title + game/movie, etc." as a substitute for a title? For example:
1. On this website, you can download new mods for the Half-Life game (= for Half-Life).
2. The latest sequel to the Godfather movie was released 30 years ago (= to The Godfather).
Please note that it is not a question of making a title an adjective to "sequel"/"mods", etc., but only to "game"/"movie", etc.
Thanks.
" as a substitute for a title? It is inelegant to the point of clunkiness in writing, but I can't call it wrong. It might be necessary for clarity sometimes in speech.
