At the moment I'm writing a thesis and want to know whether in the Introduction part I should write my sentences using a form of the future, eg. "In chapter 2 an overview will be given". Or the present simple, eg. "In chapter 2 an overview is given". Can someone help please?

In a thesis / dissertation / science report, all three tenses (past, present, future) are used. - Past tense must be used to introduce the results of one's research since it was done. - Present tense is used to layout the process of defending one's conclusion. - Future tense might be used at the end to open gates for future researches.
