Thesis Statement: Great Gatsby and the past

Hi I am writing an essay on the Great Gatsby centered around the subject of the past more specifically nostalgia. I am having trouble formulating a good thesis statement. So far I have defined nostalgia and its effect on people. So i was thinking that i might want to explore the effect that nostalgia has on the characters of the novel. Anyways If anyone has any suggestions on a thesis statement that would be wonderful. Thank you

Do you think that is an adequate thesis-- That is certainly adequate to write about. What you do with it is of course up to you.
