these vs them

Somebody send me a photograph and I wanted to tell him that i could recognize only few people in the photograph.
which is correct to say:
1) I could recognize only few of them.
2) I could recognize only few of these.
3) I could recognize only few out of them.
3) I could recognize only few out of these.
