These sentences on graffiti are ungrammatical, aren't they?

These sentences on graffiti are ungrammatical, aren't they? How can I correct them? Please help me. Thank you.

• Some people insist that graffiti are an art form, not vandalism. That is why in other countries there are designated places where graffiti can be legally done.

• Surveys show that most people perceive graffiti as something primarily done by gang members. The truth, however, is: Only 10% of graffitists belong to gangs.

• Graffitists are basically teens, mostly students, having different purposes of making graffiti arts, seeking a safer way of self-expression to show their artistic side.
