These places don't give you much in the way of service

Most places that set out tip jars are not places where tips are traditionally expected. These places don't give you much in the way of service, but they try to get extra money from custmers anyway.

Could I replace the bolded parts in the above with the following? Thanks.

... put out/lay out ... in the respect/aspect of service; with reference/regards to service; concerning/regarding/on/about service ...

Use these: put out in respect to service in respect to, in respect of, respecting, with respect to ( preps. ) All but respecting are compound prepositions, and those who value brevity above all other stylistic considerations argue that about, concerning, or respecting would be preferable. Actually, all are Standard, and all seem particularly well suited to Formal writing, which is often measured or thoughtful exposition.

  • In respect of is perhaps more frequently used by the British and by American Anglophiles.
