"These days" vs "In those days"

Hello.

Do we only say "These days" and "In those days" and not "In these days" and "Those days"?

For example:

1a) In these days, transatlantic travel can be dangerous.
1b) These days, transatlantic travel can be dangerous.

2a) In those days, transatlantic travel could be dangerous.
2b) Those days, transatlantic travel could be dangerous.

Only are 1b and 2a correct?

I suppose. There is nothing wrong, but they are not used and sound very unnatural.
