There were thirteen pods on the plant, all/each of them containing five seeds.

Hello.

Is the sentence below unambiguous? If yes, does it mean the same as #2?

1) There were thirteen pods on the plant, all containing five seeds.

Would it be better to say this?

2) There were thirteen pods on the plant, each of them containing five seeds.

unambiguously

If I understand the second meaning you're trying to convey, I'd say There were thirteen pods on the plant, containing a total of sixty-five seeds.

Can be interpreted as:

- each pod contains five seeds (like in #2, 65 in total);

You can believe it. It just looks (in that interpretation) like the writer forgot to put in the word 'together'.

... 13 pods, all (together) containing 5 seeds.
