There was / it was blackout.

Can I say,

(a) Some lights flickered for a while. Suddenly, it was / they were blackout.
(b) The light flickered for a while. Suddenly, there was / it was blackout.
(c) He was glad to see everything back to normal. He learnt an important lesson for his daily life.
(d) He felt glad because everything back to normal / everything was back to normal.

Strangely enough, "Blackout" is only a countable - at least, to the best of my knowledge. Suddenly, there was a blackout. But this is not exactly idiomatic!

But this is not exactly idiomatic! A blackout is a big event, and usually describes a major loss of power. At least in the US, they are rare.

We'd say, "Suddenly the lights went out." "Suddenly, the power went off!"

These are all okay except "He felt glad because everything back to normal."
With the "because" conjunction, we need an independent clause. In this case, your second "clause" has no verb. You need "because everything was back to normal."

Your previous sentence is okay because "everything back to normal" works as object of the infinitive "to see."
