Another way Epicurus thought he could cure his followers of their fear of death was by pointing out the difference between
what we feel about the future and what we feel about the past. We care about one but not the other. Think about the time
before your birth. There was all that time that you didn’t exist.

Could you explain to me the usage of "There was all that time". I think it just means "you didn’t exist that time [the time

Yes, the point is that you didn't exist before your birth, but also it points out that there was an enormous amount of time that went by when you didn't exist. The earth is thought to be about 4.5 billion years old, so there was a period of about 4.5 billion years when the earth existed but you and I didn't.
