There was a wicked glint in her eyes, telling me...

Hi

Would say you a comma is required before telling?

There was a wicked glint in her eyes, telling me not to trust a word she was saying.

Or this too is OK?

There was a wicked glint in her eyes telling me not to trust a word she was saying.

Thanks,

Tom

To me, both are fine.

To me, a slight pause stresses the first part a tiny bit more. So it's your choice.

The comma makes the reading more suspenseful and dramatic.

I would be tempted to use a dash for that very purpose. Would I be laughed off the Forums?

No, but a mild titter might be called for. Emotion: smile
