"Please note, paired Singular and Plural nouns always end in ‘s’ because there are always two."

I don't know why I'm having big problems trying to understand this. Can someone give me an explanation?

I think the "There are" is right. Because as you said in your sentence, paired Singular and Plural nouns always end in 's', I can make some eg. for you, such as glass, trous and so on, I think you should understand that now.
