'There has been' + year

Hello, everybody. Please, consider the next two sentences.

In the past several years, there has been increasing interest in bananas. The foundation of the World Society for Bananas in 2010 supports this claim.

Is the combination between 'there has been' and 'foundation... in 2010' (a particular year) wrong?

Thank you!!!
