'THEN' in Reported Speech.

Hi teachers,

When you have the word 'then' in direct speech and you want to write it in reported speech, does this word change? if not why?

For example:

Tom: But the roads were also crowed this morning and you drove a lot faster then.

Reported Speech:

Tom said that the roads have been also very crowed that morning and she had driven a lot faster then.

Thanks in advance

Hi! When there is "now and then" used in direct speech, how is it turned into reported speech? The sentence is Jack: I've got to try something different now and then. Thank you!
