Them or whom ?

Hi everyone! i need some help.
1) He has three daughters; the eldest of them has graduataed from university.
2) He has three daughters; the eldest of whom has graduataed from university.

Please tell me which one is right, which one is wrong and explain it if you can. Thank you in advance.

1. This is correct. You have two complete sentences separated by the semi-colon.
2. This is incorrect, as written. The words following the semi-colon are not a complete sentence. 2. would be correct if the semi-colon were replaced by a comma.

If semi-colon were replaced by a comma, both of 2 sentences would be right ?

I agree with the first answer. These are correct:

He has three daughters; the eldest of them has graduataed from university.
He has three daughters. The eldest of them has graduataed from university.
He has three daughters, the eldest of whom has graduataed from university.


I prefer the last.
