They know they would die because there was no way to escape the police. All they wanted was they extened their lives.

Are they correct?

They were forbidden to have sexual relationship in this society. If they caught, they would be shot. They broke the rules. All they wanted to do then was to evade the police. Therefore they could live longer.

All they wanted was to continue living... or... all they wanted was to continue their secret life together. I'm sure there are other choices.
