"their a lot of money" or "a lot of their money"

Please look at this question.

"The construction company saved (itself, their) a lot of money by choosing a new supplier."

The correct answer is "itself".

Problems were that the proper reasons they, members in my English study club, were finding out why "their" can't be a correct answer are really different against each other.

My opinion on that question is like this.
(Q1)
We can use the word of "company" as both singular and plural.
In case of indicating a company itself, we can use as singular but in case of indicating workers in the company, we have to use it as plural.
Am I right ?
(Q2)
I think whether or not using singular or plural on that question is not important. More importing thing is whether or not we can use "their a lot of money" because I think I've never seen "their a lot of " up to now.
Yes ! I see and know we can say as "their many or their much".

Now it is real question I have to ask you, guys.
Can we write as "their a lot of " in English grammar ?
I think it should be " a lot of their money" ,not " their a lot of money".

Please someone teach me a little bit.
