Which are correct?

I'd prefer the singular and longer:
The interval between syllables is generally longer than 20 milliseconds.

However, I'd say that the plural and the other adjectives might also be used.

This is my thinking:

I chose 'longer' because the sentence refers to a length of time (20 milliseconds).
An argument can also be made for using 'greater' if you focus more on the word 'interval' and less on the idea of length of time.
The word 'more' would focus on the idea of "more than 20".
