The Works

I came across this talk. Does this 'the works' mean all the things? I wonder if it needs 'and' before 'the works'?

"I'm going to the Grand Tetons. Do some camping, hiking, canoeing, the works. I've heard it's breathtaking, and I've never been there."

I came across this talk. Does this 'the works' mean all the things? Yes, everything.

I wonder if it needs 'and' before 'the works'? The whole phrase as it is written is typical of spoken, informal English. Note there's no subject mentioned either.

The underlying structure is I'm going to do the works, for example some camping, hiking and canoeing.
