I'm assuming you know the word 'heck' is a euphemism for another four letter word starting with h, although heck is used in its own right by people who don't want to say the other word. Heck of nasty ideas doesn't really work. Heck needs to be followed by 'of a' not just of.

Heck of nasty ideas doesn't really work.

Heck needs to be followed by 'of a' not just of.

A heck of a lot of nasty ideas works but is a bit of a mouthful.

"Heck" is a rarely used word in most situations. I'm not much of an expert on British English, but I can tell you that most people in America would stare at you if you said someone had a "heck of a cheek". "Heck of a nerve" is used occasionally, but it would be used more like this: "He / she / it's got some nerve!", but that too is a little used phrase.

Hi,
As a fan of the comic strip 'Dilbert' by Scott Adams, I have to point out that there is a recurring character called Phil (the following words are quoted from the Dilbert website).

Phil, The Prince of Insufficient Light, is the ruler of Heck (for sinners whose transgressions aren't serious enough for ****). He pops up about once a year to impose mild sanctions for mild sins. Fo

You may be right about a role for Phil.
