Hello

I want to know what was "Doctor" called in old English?

For example, in some countries of Asia, we would call Hakim. The word doctor is a new word. What is the old word for Doctor?

"Leech" is right.

"Doctor" isn't new new. It appears in Chaucer and Shakespeare, and in Piers Plowman (1377). They often called them "Doctor of Physick" ("physick" spelled various ways) because "doctor" applies to many other professions besides medicine. Doctor is the Latin word for "teach
